What is JETAASG?

The JET Alumni Association (JETAA) was created in 1989 to strengthen and maintain the bonds of friendship developed between JET Programme participants. It currently has 51 chapters in 17 participating home countries, and over 23,000 members.

JETAA Singapore is the youngest chapter in the JETAA International family. Inaugurated in May 2009, the chapter has grown steadily to a thriving membership of 67 alumni to date. JETAA Singapore works closely with the Embassy of Japan (EOJ), the Japan Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR) Singapore and other related organisations to promote a broader and deeper understanding between Japan and Singapore.

Through our activities, we aim to:

  1. Provide pre-departure support for JET participants leaving for the JET Programme.
  2. Assist returning JET participants in making the transition back to life in Singapore.
  3. Promote Japan and the Japanese culture in Singapore.
  4. Create social bonding and networking opportunities for members.

If you are a former JET participant, we welcome you to join us or email secretaryjetaasingapore@gmail.com if you have any questions.

We look forward to hearing from you!

  1. Hi! I’m interested in joining jetaasg but i’m not a JET participant. Is there a way for me to join? 😀

    1. Hi Charmaine, thanks for your interest!

However our group serves to connect current JET members and alumni only. If you’re interested in Japan-related events in Singapore – we can direct you to the various resources available. Hope this helps!
